City of Stairs (階段の街)

It’s a sunny afternoon in this cozy harbor city, and you’ve decided to go for a stroll. The view of the setting sun from the lighthouse is spectacular, and there are plenty of small delights for you to experience along the way. You need only let the sea breeze take you where it will.

There are five hours until sunset—more than enough time to enjoy a leisurely stroll. If you spend too long smelling the roses, however, you may not make it to the lighthouse before nightfall. What will you do on this lovely afternoon?

City of Stairs (階段の街) is a light card game where you create your own walking route by placing streetscape cards.

The rules are simple : on your turn, choose one card from two available cards and place it on the table. You will create a cityscape in a 7×4 grid. Place the cityscape cards to create a walking route that is advantageous to you. Once the cityscape is complete, start walking along the route. Your goal is the lighthouse where you can watch the beautiful sunset. Place the walking diary cards for the places you have visited in front of you. Once you have placed 5 walking diary cards, calculate your score. Will you be able to see the sunset at the lighthouse?
